I bought this book after several years of staying away from Lyme world, and I found nothing new or nothing more convincing in it, that would justify the title of trivializing autoimmune diseases by saying Lyme+ is their root cause. This is very rare, I've been following so many people with MS and rheumatic autoimmune diseases and so many had years of treatments with Antibiotics and there is only a handful few who got better with their diagnoses that way. My personal experience with ILADS approach and pulsing many antibiotics is a real NIGHTMARE and it got me from 70% functional to 20% functional, antibiotics damaged me and 6+ years later I did not recover from damage done. I was naive and did not have a diagnosis and trusted that LLMDs know better , but they dont really usualyl believe in autoimmune disease, as the author of this book claims himself, so they don't even follow extensively autoimmune research and newest diagnostic methods, as a result of this no LLMD even refered me to the correct labs and tests to see if i have some autoimmune.... I ended up figuring out my symptoms are NEUROSJOGRENS presenting as encephalopathy ,small fiber neuropathy and POTS, without rheumatic or sicca, which is commonly the case in youth who develops Sjogrens. After figuring out my diagnosis I helped many of my friends to get Sjogren's diagnosis as it's poorly understood and best LLMDs can do is ask for MRI whcih shows only MS, does not show Sjogrens. Most LLMDs are not aware of POTS being autoimmune either. Overall this book is way bellow my expectations.EDIT: Since I heard back from the authors of this book and they were very mad with my review (Showed no empathy for the situation I got in from antibiotic damage by extreme multiple antibiotics from ILADS that wrecked my microbiome and amplified my autoimmunity by 10x!), ... I invite those Authors if they're so offended by the truth I wrote in my review, sad truth as I'd wish we all have Lyme and cure autoimmune with ILADS approach.. but I invite the Authors to share reality about 'which autoimmune diseases are 'caused' by Lyme+ , i mean how amny people? Personally I am tracking 1000+ cases over last 7 years and nobody i know (or less than 0.5%) of people with autoimmunity have achieved real benefit from ILADS treatment. What I do know is that my late friiend who diet at 36years in 2019 was treated for 'Lyme' and he suddenly died of gut cancer w liver methastazes. NO ILADS DOCTOR EVER REFERRED HIM TO CHECK COLONOSCOPY. I know many cases like that, people misdiagnosed with Lyme and taking sloads of antibitocis and no change 5+ yrs, then it ends up it was atuoimmune... And yes, yes, we all treated 'bartonella' to, and all known Horowitz etc protocols. Lyme can trigger autoimmunity in prone individuals, but tha'ts where reality comes in. Less than 1% people with confirmed autoimmuntiy can cure from antibiotics. SO why such title of this book? -------- I am sure the Authors of book know that TETRACYCLINES, BACTRIM etc are KNOWN causes of LUPUS. Real book should show BOTH SIDES OF COIN.
